An event for Black Ops Cold War has reportedly already occurred

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is in full swing, as leaks have been pouring in for the title. The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone provided dataminers with all of the ammunition they needed. Various files were added to the game that gave the miners insights into the next title. However, one leak from today didn’t derive from the game files. Instead, it originated from one of the oldest leakers in the community. According to him, a Black Ops Cold War multiplayer event has already taken place.

Black Ops Cold War multiplayer has already been played

If you’ve been following along with Call of Duty news for some time, then you know this isn’t out of the ordinary. Activision commonly hosts an event for the new title a few months out from release. This helps drum up publicity for the game and also allows the developers to make any changes before the beta.

However, we usually hear something about the event shortly after it occurs. Of course, this time it might have been a little different with every participant playing from home. Nevertheless, renowned leaker TheGamingRevolution heard about the multiplayer event and let us know about it earlier today.

TheGamingRevolution states the event occurred “recently” but doesn’t offer a specific timeframe. Still, this is interesting information, as the developers don’t usually let players test the game without it being somewhat ready. The participants of the event were likely content creators and/or professional players.

If this leak is accurate, then it bodes well for an open beta starting in the next month or so. With the expected release date for Black Ops Cold War being November 13, a beta will likely arrive in late September to early October. Like with all of the leaks from today, we’ll have to wait for more information on this topic.
