It’s been a somewhat scattered start for the Call of Duty League. There is still no official announcement regarding broadcasting rights for the league despite the matches starting today and on top of that, it took until the last minute for the league to announce their partnerships with brands going forward. Despite the long wait, there are some notable sponsors for the Call of Duty League during the 2020 season and beyond.
The first deal is with the Astro Gaming and will supply the official headsets and mixamp for the league. They are returning partners and they have struck a deal that will extend all the way through the 2022 season. On top of providing the equipment, Astro Gaming will also sponsor the MVP award, produce a video content series and more.
Like the Astro Gaming sponsorship, MTN DEW AMP GAME FUEL will return once again as the official beverage of the league and will extend their contract through the 2022 season. It will also be touted as the official beverage of Call of Duty Challengers, the Tier 2 scene for the league.
Beyond the Call of Duty League being played on the PlayStation, the brand will be an official partner for the league for the 2020 season. The deal will go beyond just the consoles as PlayStation will pronounce a handful of different leaderboards and key video content for the league which includes “Instant Reaction” – a post-match, on-stage series.
Scuf Gaming and professional Call of Duty will continue their partnership through the 2021 season of the Call of Duty League. It will be the official controller of the league and has been a mainstay in the scene for years.
The United States Air Force will partner with the league for a one-year deal. The branch will be on-site during the weekends, sponsor the “Match Metrics” feature, and offer fans the opportunity to experience flight simulators during the tournament weekends.
