Dota 2: Boom Esports Part Ways With Drew

Roster changes are coming in from many teams following the DPC Season 1 of Dota 2; Boom Esports being one of them.

Boom Esports have announced that Andrew “Drew” Halim will no longer be a part of their Dota 2 squad going forward.

The Southeast Asian team did not state any reason but thanked the Indonesian for his contributions during the DPC season and wished him luck on his future endeavors.

Boom signed Drew in January 2021 before which he played for Singaporean team Reality Rift. The Indonesian usually plays as a carry, with Troll Warlord, Gyrocopter and Faceless Void as signature heroes. Drew played Troll, Monkey King, and a few other heroes in matches of DPC.

Boom Esports were in the upper division of Dota Pro Circuit but couldn’t finish near the top. They were fifth on the table with wins against Fnatic, XctN and Vice.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Drew. His participation with Reality Rift ended after the organization disbanded because of the pandemic. The end of a short stint with Boom will open further opportunities for the player, with other teams searching and changing their team lineup.
