Dota 2: SA Player Faker Joins Infamous Gaming As A Stand-in

Eliseo “Faker” Arancibia replaces Leonardo “Mandy” Viana after his trial phase.

Infamous Gaming is currently competing in the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 8 and has their next series scheduled against Hokori on March 17, 2021, in the Upper Bracket playoffs. After which, they shall compete for Season Two of the DPC once they secure the win. However, a new roster change has been announced by the organization on its Facebook page.

Mandy is leaving Infamous Gaming after being signed for a trial period because of his average performance. He is being replaced by South American Dota 2 player Faker as a stand-in mid-lane, while Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina also returns back to the roster.

Faker has been a part of the Peruvian organization before. He played for Infamous Young from November 2019 to April 2020. After that, he became a part of Infamous Gaming, from April 2020 to November 2020. During this time he had good performances and found some decent success. Faker had departed from the organization in November 2020 when Jean “Mr.Jeans” Natividad was added to the roster. This announcement was made by the organization before their match against Latam Defenders in the ongoing Movistar Liga Pro Gaming Season 8, which they won with a  2-0 score. Now, he is being added to the team while Mandy is departing.

Faker’s controversies

Previously, Faker was a part of the 0-900 team that was competing in the OGA DPC South America Regional League Lower Division, which was disqualified from the league. Their matches against Mad Kings and Incubus were canceled, while all matches were declared as void. The team was involved in the betting on league matches.

Faker was also involved in another controversy where he had made racist remarks towards Canadian player Andrew “Jubei” Evelyn in a pub match. He later had to issue an apology through a Twitter post. He was subject to a lot of criticism from the Dota 2 community as his racist remarks were considered unacceptable. The incident was caught on Jubei’s live stream on Twitch and a Reddit thread soon emerged on the issue, where the Dota 2 community condemned the undesirable behavior shown by Faker.

Infamous Gaming’s updated roster:

  • Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina
  • Eliseo “Faker” Arancibia (stand-in)
  • Mariano “Papita” Caneda
  • Miquel “Michael-” Choque
  • Christian “Accel” Cruz (captain)
