Quibi, an upcoming short-form, mobile streaming video service, will feature a talent competition series that gives subscribers an opportunity to potentially compete for FaZe Clan.
The show, “FaZe Up,” will feature six contestants competing at FaZe Clan’ mansion, according to a release, with one player ultimately being chosen to join the organisation.

Once the app is live, Quibi subscribers can submit a video about themselves in the hopes of joining the competition, with other subscribers set to vote on the six finalists. FaZe Clan will select the winner following an array of in-game and real-world challenges, all of which will be portrayed in the video series. The show is produced by sports and entertainment media company Whistle.
Oluwafemi Okusanya, Head of Content at FaZe Clan, said in a release: “Over the past 10 years, FaZe Clan has not only contributed to the growth of the gaming lifestyle and the esports community, but we have broken barriers and are not afraid to disrupt the status quo. In 2020, we plan to do the same with content creation and media distribution. The ‘FaZe Up’ show represents our next chapter in content creation with our first premium production effort and in collaboration with innovative partners like Whistle and Quibi.”

Quibi is set to launch on April 6th, with the company securing more than $1 billion in funding from companies such as NBCUniversal, The Walt Disney Company, and WarnerMedia. The subscription service will specialise in original video series with episodes lasting 10 minutes or less apiece. Quibi was founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, Co-founder of DreamWorks and former chairman of Walt Disney Studios. CEO Meg Whitman formerly held the same role with eBay and HP, and is also an investor in and board member of Immortals Gaming Club.
Michael Cohen, President of Whistle, added: “We have had an incredible partnership with FaZe and couldn’t be more excited to take it to new heights with this show, especially on a unique platform like Quibi. Whistle is all about incorporating our fans into our content, and so the fact that the Quibi audience gets the ability to participate and immerse themselves in this experience is a truly perfect fit.”
Esports Insider says: FaZe Clan has established itself as one of the most popular esports organisations today, so it will be interesting to see whether fans flock to Quibi for a chance to potentially join the team… or at least to watch what happens.
