GameSquare Esports announced Friday that former FaZe Clan executive Justin Kenna has been appointed as its new chief executive officer and a member of its board of directors. GameSquare is a Canadian Securities Exchange-listed international esports company and the parent of esports agency Code Red Esports.
Kenna joins former FaZe Clan SVP of media and partnerships Jan Neumeister, who joined the company on Tuesday as its new head of European operations.
Kenna spent more than three years at FaZe Clan as its chief financial officer. Prior to that, he worked in various roles at Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Sydney-based RAMS, Optimist Inc., and Madison over the last 17 years.
The company also revealed that, as part of his employment, the company has granted a total of 2M stock options to Kenna “pursuant to the company’s stock option plan.”
“The stock options vest in equal quarterly installments over two years and may be exercised at a price of $0.44 per option for a period of five years from the date of grant,” the company said in the announcement “This grant of options remains subject to the approval of the Canadian Securities Exchange.”
Earlier this month, GameSquare announced that it has signed an agreement to fully acquire Canadian esports organization Reciprocity.
