London-based esports apparel brand Raven announced Wednesday that it has secured a license from the Call of Duty League to design, manufacture, and sell official team and league merchandise.
While financial terms and length of the deal were not disclosed, Raven Managing Director Sam Wells told The Esports Observer that Raven is a “European licensee,” and that the licensing deal is for more than a “one-off” or limited run of merchandise.
The first fruits of this license will be a limited-run of CDL Championship t-shirts featuring a “custom wire design Champs trophy print” and logos of each of all competing CDL teams on the back. Following this at a date to be determined, Raven will produce collections for each of the franchised teams of the CDL.
Raven.GG Limited, which owns the Raven brand, secured a $1.4M USD seed investment in April. Wells said that the seed funding has been used in part to enhance “staffing, internal infrastructure, and logistics. It’s helped us scale to facilitate such licenses.”
Raven has deals in place with several esports organizations including Excel Esports, Rogue, Tribe Gaming, and Nova Esports.
