Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Release Date Expected Soon

Those who remember Advance Wars remember it well. The 2001 turn-based strategy game launched on Game Boy Advance and was one of the most critically acclaimed of that era. Such was the depth and ingenuity of its design that it is considered one of the all-time greats. A sequel followed two years later.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, the remake of these two games, which was supposed to launch on Nintendo Switch but was delayed last March due to the war in Ukraine. Since then it's been fairly quiet while a Nintendo financial report in November revealed the game's release date was "TBA".

But now, online listings have been spotted with new and updates details, with pre-orders seemingly opening up suggesting the game could get a release date reveal soon. On Amazon Mexico and Canada, Walmart, Best Buy, and EB Games, the title has received updates on its page (My Nintendo News via Nintendo Life).

On the game's eShop page meanwhile, it's been spotted that there's a new NSUID attached, which usually means that pre-orders should be going live at some point in the future (via Neoxon). There is buzz that perhaps Nintendo is readying a Nintendo Direct where it will show more of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and perhaps announce a release date for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.

It will be high time for the remake because it seems Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has been ready for some time. Last April, someone even got early access to the title by accident and played it on their Switch, but Nintendo ultimately cancelled the purchase and refunded the player.

While we don't know the release date of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp just yet, we do know that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is confirmed for May 12. So Switch players, Nintendo fans, Advance Wars enthusiasts, and Zelda obsessives should perhaps look out for a Nintendo Direct in the near future. Although Nintendo being Nintendo, we could see dates and details dropped out of nowhere too. Watch this space.
