Android 10 Is Now Available

Google has released Android 10, the latest operating system for Android phones. The new OS is currently only available to download on Pixel phones, but Google says it will begin rolling out to other Android phones later this year. The biggest new feature included in Android 10 is a gesture-based system for navigating around the interface. Gone are the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen (though you can get them back if you prefer). Instead, you'll swipe up to go home, swipe from the left or right side of the screen to go back and forward, and use a gesture to switch between recently used apps.

Android 10 includes a number of new features. One is a dark mode that's easier on the eyes in dark settings. It also has a new focus mode that lets you pick the most distracting apps to stop their notifications and nudge you not to open them when you try. You can also press a button to get automatic captions on videos, podcasts, and audio messages. And Google has tightened up its privacy restrictions and given users more control over when and how your data is shared.

If you want to upgrade to Android 10 right now, you'll need a Google Pixel phone. The newest release is the Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL, which the company announced earlier this year at the I/O developer conference.

The main difference between the two phones is the size. The 3a has a 5.56-inch display, while the XL has a 6-inch display. The XL also has a bigger battery and a slightly higher price. For full details, check out IGN's Google Pixel 3a review.
