Badges make the world go round, at least according to Bloodborne. Yharnam is an incredibly dangerous place – arguably FromSoftware’s most threatening setting – but that doesn’t mean Hunters are left to hunt on their own. The Hunter’s Dream is home to the Messengers, small beings who offer their wares in exchange for Blood Echoes.
There’s only one singular shop in the Hunter’s Dream, with its inventory increasing over the course of the game. Unlocking new items for purchase in Bloodborne requires finding the hidden Badges in-game, all of which offer weapons & attire for Hunters to outfit themselves with.
Sword Hunter Badge
The Sword Hunter Badge is dropped by the Cleric Beast and unlocks the following item for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Repeating Pistol
- Hunter Chief Emblem
- Bold Hunter’s Mark
As the Cleric Beast is optional, it’s actually possible to miss the Sword Hunter Badge right away. Considering how useful the Kirkhammer is, along with convenient access to Antidotes, make sure to kill the Cleric Beast at the end of the Great Bridge before moving onto Gascoigne.
Saw Hunter Badge
The Saw Hunter Badge can be found in the Central Yharnam Sewers close to Father Gascoigne’s boss arena. The Saw Hunter Badge unlocks the following items for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Saw Cleaver
- Hunter Axe
- Threaded Cane
- Saw Spear
- Hunter Pistol
- Hunter Blunderbuss
The Saw Hunter Badge is positioned directly behind the Maneater Boar inside of the sewers. Simply kill the boar, proceed ahead, and pick up the Saw Hunter Badge.
Radiant Sword Hunter Badge
The Radiant Sword Hunter Badge is found inside of the Healing Church Workshop connected to Cathedral Ward. The Badge unlocks a number of rare items for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Ludwig’s Holy Blade
- Ludwig’s Rifle
- Fire Paper
- Bone Marrow Ash
- Tomb Prospector Set
After defeating the Blood Starved Beast, an elevator inside of Oedon Chapel will unlock and lead players right up to the Healing Church Workshop. The Radiant Sword Hunter Badge is located inside of a chest at the top of the third floor.
Powder Keg Hunter Badge
The Powder Keg Hunter Badge can only be obtained from Djura, either by killing him or gaining his trust so long as players refuse to confront his Gatling Gun in Old Yharnam. The Powder Keg Hunter Badge unlocks the following items for purchase:
- Stake Driver
- Rifle Spear
- Rope Molotov Cocktail
To befriend Djura, Old Yharnam must be entered from behind. The Church of the Good Chalice and Graveyard of the Dark Beast Lanterns (tied to the Blood Starved Beast and Darkbeast Paarl respectively) offer convenient access to Djura and his Powder Keg Hunter Badge. Simply talk to him and choose to spare the beasts.
Spark Hunter Badge
The Spark Hunter Badge is dropped by Darkbeast Paarl upon death, offering the following items for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Bolt Paper
While the Badge doesn’t offer much, Bolt Paper is extremely useful when fighting Great Ones. Darkbeast Paarl can be found in Hypogean Gaol. Let a Snatcher kidnap you to the Gael and hunt down Paarl.
Wheel Hunter Badge
The Wheel Hunter Badge can only be obtained by completing Alfred’s questline or killing him after a specific point in the game. The Badge unlocks the following items in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Logarius’ Wheel
- Gold Ardeo
The easiest way to get the Wheel Hunter Badge is to kill Alfred after defeating Vicar Amelia. Alfred will relocate to Cathedral Ward where he’ll have since found the Wheel Hunter Badge. Kill Alfred and loot the Badge off his corpse.
Crow Hunter Badge
The Crow Hunter Badge is another Badge tied to a side quest, this time Eileen the Crow. The Crow Hunter Badge unlocks the following items in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Crowfeather Set
- Blade of Mercy
The fastest way to get the Crow Hunter Badge is to kill Eileen in Central Yharnam. She can be found inside the ruined temple, hidden behind some barrels on the top floor. Make sure to learn the Shake Off Cape Gesture before killing her.
Cosmic Eye Watcher Badge
The Cosmic Eye Watcher Badge can be found in Upper Cathedral Ward and unlocks a host of items for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Poison Knife
- Blue Elixir
- Beast Blood Pellet
- Twin Bloodstone Shards
From the Lantern, go up the stairs and follow the left path all the way up to the room with the Scourge Beasts. Head down into the foyer down below, kill every single enemy, and then enter the left hallway to find the Cosmic Eye Watcher Badge with a Brainsucker guarding it.
The Cainhurst Badge can be easily obtained by joining the Cainhurst Vilebloods, and unlocks the following items for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Cainhurst Set
- Numbing Mist
To join the Cainhurst Vilebloods, simply kneel in front of Anallise at the top of Cainhurst Castle. She’ll reward Hunters with the Cainhurst Badge in exchange for their servitude.
Old Hunter Badge
The Old Hunter Badge can only be obtained by defeating one of Bloodborne’s final bosses, Gehrman. The Badge unlocks the following items for purchase in a New Game + cycle:
- Gehrman’s Hunter Set
- Burial Blade
Keep in mind that waking up from the dream will not unlock the Old Hunter Badge despite triggering a new cycle. Gehrman must be fought and killed after refusing to awaken from the dream. Only then will the Old Hunter Badge drop.
Firing Hammer Badge
The Firing Hammer Badge is a unique Badge only available in Bloodborne’s DLC, the Old Hunters. The Badge unlocks the following items for purchase in the Hunter’s Dream:
- Piercing Rifle
- Delayed Molotov
- Delayed Rope Molotov
Starting from the dim house found in the Hunter’s Nightmare, head left up the flight of stairs to fight the Beast Claw Hunter who’ll drop the Firing Hammer Badge upon death.
