The trailer for Modern Warfare’s Season 2 shows four new maps, including more Modern Warfare 2 remakes and a new Gunfight map.
Season 2 of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare starts on Tuesday but it’s been leaking like a sieve for weeks and now the whole Season 2 trailer has appeared online.
It confirms four new maps, including the previously rumoured Rust remake, plus Atlas Superstore, Bazaar, and Zhokov Boneyard.
There aren’t many details but Bazaar is a 2 vs. 2 Gunfight map (so very small) and Zhokov Boneyard is a Ground War map based around the same area from Modern Warfare 2.
Rust is also a remake of a map from Modern Warfare 2, while Atlas Superstore seems to be adapted from the Operation Paladin map in Modern Warfare’s Spec Ops mode.
There’s also mention of new weapons and a new battle pass, although the biggest news is the return of fan favourite character Ghost – who’s already been officially teased.
As you can see there’s a lot of Modern Warfare 2 nostalgia going on in Season 2, which may mean that Season 3 ends up incorporating Modern Warfare 3 maps and characters.
What’s less certain is if and when a battle royale mode will be announced for the game, which has been leaked multiple times but never officially revealed.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 starts on February 11 at 6pm GMT on all formats. The trailer will probably be released officially later today.
This year’s Call Of Duty was officially announced last week by Activision, but only in the sense that it exists. We won’t get to find out whether the rumours of Black Ops 5 are true for probably a few months yet.
