Cyberpunk 2077's story DLC – Phantom Liberty – is finally underway for 2023, and it's bringing back Keanu Reeves and V for another trip through Night City.
Previous leaks claimed that both V and Reeves' character Johnny Silverhand would be absent. However, the two feature prominently in this new trailer that's all about the New United States of America which V even pledges allegiance to. However, Silverhand doesn't seem too happy about that, so maybe he'll drop out of V's conscience for a while.
As you can see in the new trailer below, there's gunship dropping, explosions, and a good amount of armed military thugs to keep the Cyberpunk lights on.
The trailer also features what looks to be a new whip weapon as well as enemies in mech suits, with grenade launchers that let out electrical shockwaves. We also see V brandishing a sword as they sneak up on a goon by a turret. As you'd expect from a CD Projekt Red RPG, it's an action-filled spectacle, one that hopes to recapture the hype of the initial pre-launch.
While Cyberpunk 2077's DLC is bringing us the New United States of America, modders are opening up inaccessible spots in the base game, such as parts of the Megabuilding. Nexus user anygoodname has expanded on this existing location with the Lower Market, even adding new quests. It also gives an in-universe explanation for why it was blocked off. As it turns out, the lift was broken – simple as that.
So if you fancy a bite-size DLC while you wait for CD Projekt Red's official one, this should tie you over. Granted, you need to be playing on PC to get access. Otherwise, there's the new content based on the upcoming Netflix anime launching today, as well as the Netflix anime itself – Edgerunners. For the Cyberpunk fans out there, there's plenty to dig your teeth into, and plenty on the way.
