Cyberpunk 2077 was set to be one of the biggest releases of 2020, so it should come as no surprise that it’s breaking records left and right. In fact, CD Projekt Red’s latest project has already set a new record on Twitch, garnering the most concurrent views for a single player game ever on the platform.
At the time of writing, Cyberpunk 2077 has over 750 thousand concurrent viewers – more than any other game on Twitch. Last night it topped out at over 1.1 million, making it the eighth game in Twitch history to break the coveted 1 million concurrent viewers mark. It’s also found a spot on the All-Time Peak Viewers list, landing in sixth place behind Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. No other single-player game has seen a higher concurrent viewer count, though, making Cyberpunk 2077 the king of solo gaming.
Cyberpunk 2077 is off to a great start and shows no signs of slowing down in the weeks and months to come. CD Projekt Red is dedicated to fixing many of the bugs that still plague the game and, when both PS5 and Series X versions come out next year, we’re expecting to see a renewed wave of interest in Night City.
The game is doing just as well on Steam, hitting a peak of over 1 million players earlier today. Right now it’s sitting behind Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (again), but there’s no denying the success Cyberpunk 2077 has found within hours of releasing. It’s not without its fair share of issues, but it seems to be the gaming experience players have been waiting for all year. A pumping soundtrack, incredible acting, and a compelling story have quickly made Cyberpunk 2077 one of the most popular games of 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC on GOG.COM, Steam and Epic, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Stadia from December 10, 2020. When you buy Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG.COM, 100% of your money goes to CD PROJEKT Group and supports their future projects.
