It may come as a surprise that some in this group hadn't already been submitted for Oscar consideration – especially Robert Downey Jr., as he has the most screen time of any Avenger. After the initial consideration reveals, fans even launched a Change.org petition for Downey to receive an Oscar nomination. Downey has played a vital role in the MCU over the years and has never been nominated for an Oscar for his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man.LoadingHowever, it appears the decision to not be considered for an Oscar nomination for his role in the MCU was entirely Downey's decision. In a recent interview with The Howard Stern Show, Downey was asked if he was ever nominated for an Academy Award for his Iron Man character. In reply, Downey said, "There was some talk about it, and I said, let's not."
