Download Final Fantasy 14 On PlayStation 4 For Free

With Memorial Day swiftly approaching, Square Enix is giving away the Starter Edition of Final Fantasy 14 Online: A Realm Reborn for free on PlayStation 4.

The Starter Edition, which includes a 30-day free trial to the subscription-based MMORPG, normally retails for $20 on the PlayStation Store. However, until Tuesday, May 26, you can download the game and keep it–even after the date lapses. In addition to the 30-day trial, the Final Fantasy 14 Starter Edition packages the full A Realm Reborn experience and lets you level “all the way through to level 50.”

If you are not sure you want to download the full game, which requires at least 40 GB of hard drive space to install, the PS Store also has a free demo available to check out. And you do not need active PlayStation Plus membership to play Final Fantasy 14.

While the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has caused patches for Final Fantasy 14 to be delayed, Square Enix has confirmed that the upcoming 5.3 update will revamp questing to help onboard new players more effectively. Final Fantasy 14’s 5.3 update is slated to arrive sometime this summer.
