After launching on PC last week, Elder Scrolls Online’s Flames of Ambition DLC and Update 29 are now available on consoles. The patch notes for the update include two new dungeons, the start of the Gates of Oblivion storyline, and several other changes.
The latest Elder Scrolls Online patch notes reveal some massive updates – here’s what you can expect to see on Xbox One and PS4 when you load up the game:
- Two new dungeons: Black Drake Villa and the Cauldron
- The beginnings of the Gates of Oblivion storyline
- New rewards, including item sets, Achievements, and collectibles
- Update to the Champion System
- New quality-of-life improvements
It’s worth pointing out that some of the content – such as the new dungeons and Gates of Oblivion storyline – are only available if you’ve purchased the Flames of Ambition DLC or are an ESO Plus member. Black Drake Villa and the Cauldron dungeons are the main draws of the new DLC, which see you facing off against the True-Sworn and the Waking Flame – and pave the way for more Daedric chaos later this year.
However, all players will now see a completely redesigned Champion System. ZeniMax Online hopes this will give you more control over your character and playstyle.
“With the redesigned Champion System, you can better tailor your characters and their playstyles based on the way you want to play,” read the patch notes. “This updated system now uses three constellation groups that reflect ESO’s gameplay and provides more options for creative and unique builds. These changes also introduce a champion bar, allowing you to slot up to four powerful passive boons for each constellation, ensuring that every decision you make with regards to how you spend your Champion Points is an impactful one.”
Flames of Ambition is now available through the in-game Crown Store on Xbox One and PS4. You can pick it up for 1,500 crowns – or opt for the Flames of Ambition Collector’s Bundle for 4,000 crowns to gain a few in-game extras such as an exclusive mount and pet.
