What if instead of Victorian-era settlers spread out to various colonies during the 1800s they instead started exploring the vast multiverse? And what if after colonizing those magical realms they found themselves suddenly cut off, at the mercy of deadly fae creatures, and desperately searching for a way home?
That's the setting for Nightingale, a new shared-world survival game set in a Victorian "gaslamp" fantasy. The game comes from the minds of Inflexion Games, a studio filled with ex-BioWare vets who've worked on such masterpieces as Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Knights of the Old Republic. The studio's first game was just announced at The Game Awards and it promises to be a journey unlike any other.
In Nightingale, you play as a Realmwalker, a human refugee searching for the last haven of humanity: Nightingale. You'll have to journey through fantastic worlds full of dangerous and wonderful creatures, partnering up with other Realmwalkers for safety or risking it all by going alone.
Players can collect materials for tools, craft weapons, and construct settlements to help on their journey. Enemies range from tiny fae sprites to giant horned beasts with backs full of writhing tentacles and mouths full of razor-sharp teeth.

The realms of Nightingale are vast and have many secrets to uncover, and we cannot wait for players to start discovering them.”
