Just in time for Christmas, Fortnite is planning a 2020 Annual Pass and more expensive Battle Bundle passes that unlock content for you.
Instead of buying individual battle passes for each season you’ll soon be able to buy one that covers the whole year, according to information discovered by dataminers.
As noted by Fortnite News, files in the latest update include the following description: ‘Purchase the 2020 Annual Pass and receive all upcoming 2020 Fortnite Battle Royale: Battle Bundles and 7 Annual Pass exclusive cosmetics’.
The Battle Bundles are also new and have their own description: ‘Battle Bundles unlock 25 per cent of content in each Battle Pass instantly upon release’.
So basically, the Battle Bundles relieve you of the time-consuming need to actually play the game as much as you used to, while the annual pass includes all content plus a few exclusive skins on top.
The only important information that hasn’t leaked out is the price, but since it has Christmas present written all over it we’re sure it won’t be long until we find out about that.
In fact, it’s almost certainly going to be announced at The Game Awards tonight, which has been used before by Epic Games for major new Fortnite reveals.
The news comes after figures show that in-game spending in Fortnite continues to fall and has basically reset back to where it was before the start of Chapter 2 and the current season.
No doubt Epic Games hopes these more expensive options will help fight the decline, especially as the current season isn’t now expected to end until February.
