Microsoft has announced the four new games that will be available to download for free on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Starting on January 1, Xbox Live subscribers will be able to download the first games, including Little Nightmares on Xbox One.

Classic game fans can also enjoy The King of Fighters XIII arriving on the same date from the Xbox 360.

Following on from the first two games, January 16 will see both Dead Rising and Breakdown launch as free games.

Microsoft’s announcement comes much earlier than previous months and means gamers can know exactly what to expect early next year.

It should also be noted that while these games can be played on Xbox Series X, none of them have any special enhancements.

There have also been no comments regarding the addition of Xbox Series games to the Gold program in the future.

Following this week’s Games with Gold announcement, Sony is expected to follow suit and reveals its plans for PS Plus games in January.

The big difference between both subscriptions is that Sony has committed to offering PS5 games, although, not every month.

We’ve already had a few since November, a stark difference to Microsoft own efforts in supporting Games with Gold.
