GTA 5 Online Best Bunker location from Gunrunning update

GTA Online Bunkers were added as part of the games Gunrunning update back in June 2017.

This wasn't all Rockstar added at the time, there was also plenty of new military-themed vehicles available at Warstock alongside the Mobile Operations Center.

But the biggest addition was clearly the bunkers, which acts as your base of operations for all Gunrunning related activities.

Those new to the game should also note that to buy a bunker (which grants access to the Gunrunning business) you'll need to be either a VIP, CEO or Biker Club President in GTA Online.

WHERE ARE BUNKERS AND HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?

All bunker locations are north of the city. You won't find a single bunker located in the city, though some are closer than others. Prices range from $1,165,000 to just under $2,400,000.

After receiving an introductory phone call from GTA Online character, Agent 14. Players will have the choice of 11 bunkers available to purchase from Maze Bank Foreclosures.

You can see them all listed below in order of price (starting with the cheapest)

  • Paleto Forest Bunker ($1.16m)
  • Raston Canyon Bunker ($1.45m)
  • Lago Zancudo Bunker ($1.55m)
  • Chumash Bunker ($1.65m)
  • Grapeseed Bunker ($1.75m)
  • Route 68 Bunker ($1.95m)

Whilst it's great to have plenty of options (variety is the spice of life) it helps to know which one is best.

WHAT IS THE BEST GTA ONLINE BUNKER?

Admittedly, there's no definitive answer, but there are certainly some factors that make certain bunkers more appealing than others.

And more surprising, it's not all about cash, as we wouldn't suggest the Farmhouse as the best, simply because it costs the most.

Generally speaking though, it seems as though most of the community tend to agree that Raton Canyon, Chumash and Route 68 are the three best options.

GTA Boom recommends the above three. Here's a quick look at why they picked those as opposed to the other 8 bunker options.

Raton Canyon: "It's surrounded by mountains meaning you'll be protected when lifting off with aerial vehicles, your MOC spawns right outside, it isn't too far away from resupply missions and while it has access to a highway, a dirt road sits in between meaning it's far away from any potential griefers. It's also one of the less popular choices, meaning you'll be left on your own a fair amount of the time."

Chumash: "loses out on the privacy and safety features, as it's both exposed and popular. However, the close proximity to the city makes it a good choice for people who need to hop between their businesses and other activities often. Do expect to bump into more rowdy folks around here though."

Route 68: "Its location puts it closer to where the action is than either Chumash or Raton Canyon, however, the downside of that is that you'll be harried by other players far more often. The Sandy Shores area has four bunkers close to one another, turning it into a hot zone for PvP. You're more than likely to get griefed every time you exit your bunker here."
