Starfield is one of the most eagerly anticipated next generation games on the horizon, with Bethesda launching their first new IP in over a decade. Little is known about the mysterious project set in space, but there is one crucial detail that has emerged recently – and that surrounds the Xbox Series X. Because of Microsoft’s jaw-dropping acquisition of Bethesda, which was announced last week, Starfield will be arriving on the Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Because of the deal – which has sent shockwaves around the industry – it’s unclear whether Starfield could come to the PS5 too, with Microsoft potentially deciding to make the upcoming Bethesda title an Xbox Series X exclusive.
That would surely help drive sales of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S even further, and lead to a big uptick in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.
And as Xbox fans wait for more information on Starfield a new leak looks to have shed some more light on the project.
As reported on in a post by GameRant, an alleged leaked image of Starfield has been published on Imgur and then on Discord.
The image was published by the same leaker who revealed the first ever images of Starfield, with ElectricalAd8659 initially leaking three pics of the upcoming Bethesda hit.
The alleged leaked Starfield image shows a third-person character in an astronaut suit looking at a structure in space.
The picture is reminiscent of other allegedly leaked images of Starfield that have emerged recently.
What is fascinating is the leaker also claimed that Starfield could be getting a release date in 2021.
ElectricalAd8659 posted: “There were more than what was seen already, game is targeted for 2021”.
If this is true, then it could be one of the biggest games to drop during the Xbox Series X’s first year.
Plenty of exciting titles have been announced for the Xbox Series X, such as Halo Infinite, Everwild and Fable but their release dates are unclear.
Halo Infinite was meant to be an Xbox Series X launch title before it got delayed till sometime in 2021.
It’s unclear also when games such as Fable, Everwild as well as other announced titles like Forza Motorsport and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 could arrive.
Starfield was first announced by Bethesda at E3 2018, along with The Elder Scrolls 6.
Both of these titles are coming in the next-gen, and will be on the Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Starfield is Bethesda’s first original RPG in 25 years, and given the calibre of their other titles anticipation surrounding it is huge.
