PopCap and EA have just surprise announced the new Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, based on PopCap’s popular mobile franchise. What’s more, an early version of the game is available right now.Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville won’t be available until October 18. However, EA and PopCap are taking something of an early access approach to the new Plants vs Zombies shooter. Available today and until September 30, players can pick up the Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Founder’s Edition, which is an early version of the game.Every week for six weeks, Founder’s Edition players will access new parts of the game like new multiplayer modes and free-roam regions, all leading up to the game’s full release on October 18. Founder’s Edition players will also get exclusive cosmetics for the first four weeks of the early access, though you’ll need to log in each week to collect the rewards.Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville ScreenshotsPlants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is set in Giddy Park where players can engage in some multiplayer. There is also the social board where players can interact with each other, and three free-roam regions such as the Neighborville Town Center, Mount Step, and Weirding Woods.
There will be 20 customizable character classes like Peashooter, Chomper, and new classes like night Cap and Electric Slide.
The Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Founder’s Edition is available now for $29.99 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via EA Origin. The full game will be released on October 18.
