PlayStation Plus December 2021 comes with a big console exclusive available to PS4 and PS5 subscribers, making it a top choice for the month.

However, Sony has also revealed a massive twist when it comes to the version of Godfall you can download and play starting next week.

As revealed by the tech giant this week, Godfall: Challenger Edition will be available on December 7 alongside Lego DC Super-Villains and Mortal Shell.

All three titles are worth a look and make up an interesting free games list for all PS4 and PS5 owners to check out.

But there is one crucial thing to note regarding Godfall: Challenger Edition – it doesn’t contain the same content as the base game.

Challenger Edition skips the main story, which includes a lot of character levelling, and drops players into the endgame experience.

It’s a surprising thing to do and something that all gamers should know before downloading it next week.

A message from Godfall team provides more background on the changes, explaining: “Godfall: Challenger Edition allows new players to experience the game’s trio of endgame modes, minus the story content of the base game and Fire & Darkness expansions, and grants existing players new exciting features and rewards to enjoy.

“All players have the option to immediately jump to Player Level 50, which comes with a plethora of skill points and a spread of deadly weapons for your Valorplates.”

As noted by the Godfall team, the full experience can be added to Godfall: Challenger Edition by purchasing the Deluxe Edition at any time to gain access to both the Godfall and Fire & Darkness campaigns, as well as a slew of weapons, items, and unlockable cosmetics.

This basically means if you buy the game, you get to play the game as it was intended at launch.

The description for each game can be found below and will be available to download on PS4 and PS5 on December 7:
