Reliable Nintendo leaker Kelios has today tweeted that a Pokemon Direct should be happening in February. Kelios, who has been correct before about upcoming and unannounced Nintendo Directs, highlighted a tweet from the France’s Pokekalos website about the upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations. Quoting this tweet Kelios added: “Pokemon Direct next month: oops”.
In a separate tweet Kelios added that the upcoming Pokemon Direct could take place on Pokemon Day, which is February 27.
The tease from Kelios came on the same day that the official Pokemon 25th anniversary website launched.
And in a separate tweet Kelios said we could see a bit of history repeating, with the Pokemon Anniversary Direct possibly falling on Pokemon Day which is February 27.
Kelios tweeted: “They had done that, unveiling the Pokémon 20 anniversary site and then came the announcements on Pokemon Day.”

Kelios previously tweeted about what the Pokemon Company has up their sleeves for the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
And the leaker appeared to hint that the long-requested Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes could at last be arriving on the Nintendo Switch.
Towards the end of last year Kelios tweeted: “You’re going to have your remake next November, stop complaining”.
While Kelios didn’t mention Diamond and Pearl by name, these Nintendo DS classics seem the most likely candidates.
Kelios also said a Detective Pikachu sequel is in the works, which could debut alongside Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Unite in 2021.
The tease of the upcoming Pokemon Direct comes as promotion for the Pokemon 25th Anniversary celebrations has got underway.
Besides launching the official Pokemon 25 site, it has been revealed that Katy Perry has been brought onboard to help kickstart the festivities in style.
The official Pokemon 25 website says: “Every party needs a playlist!
“Pokemon is teaming up with some of the biggest names in music including pop icon Katy Perry, and you’re invited to join the fun!”
Here’s hoping the superstar doesn’t go Hot N Cold on Ninty and still wants to Roar about Pokemon’s birthday when February rolls around (sorry).
Elsewhere, the Pokemon 25 website has also teased what fans can expect from 2021.
The website says: “This is just the beginning of the festivities! There will be loads of events, promotions, and more throughout the year. Stay tuned, Trainers!”
Previously the Pokemon Company dangled a carrot in front of fans by saying they had “very special” plans in the work to mark Pokemon’s 25th anniversary.
The first ever Pokemon game was released on February 27, which is when Pokemon Red and Green arrived on the Game Boy in Japan.
Since then, as of March last year, the Pokemon series has sold over 386million units across the globe and is the third best selling video game franchise in history.
