Pokemon Isle of Armor special pre-order bonus news for Sword and Shield DLC

Nintendo is gearing up to release the first DLC expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Nintendo Switch fans can play Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor expansion from June 17.

If you pre-order the expansion through the Nintendo eShop, you can access the content after a small update on June 17. There doesn’t appear to be any need to pre-load.

Best of all is that if you haven’t already pre-ordered the game, Nintendo has released a number of special bonuses to entice customers.

Fans who purchase the game through the eShop will receive a number of in-game items for Sword and Shield.

“If you purchase the Expansion Pass before 31/08, you’ll receive Leon’s cap and tights upon release of The Isle of Armor,” Nintendo explains.

“When you purchase the Pokemon Sword Expansion Pass, you can receive a free Pikachu Uniform and Eevee Uniform that can be equipped right away!”

There are also a number of separate bonuses available to fans who purchase a physical copy of the game and expansion.

Over on the Nintendo website, the company is offering fans the opportunity to chance to get a special collector’s steelbook.

“Get a free SteelBook when you purchase the Pokemon Shield + Pokemon Shield Expansion Pass bundle, while stocks last,” Nintendo explains.

That’s on top of another promotion in which fans can get 50% off selected Pokemon products with the purchase of the Expansion Pass.

This include a Pokemon Galar Starter Mug, a Grookey Soft Toy, a Scorbunny Soft Toy, and a Sobble Soft Toy.

And remember, the expansion pass contains a second DLC called Crown Tundra, which launches later this autumn.

As for Isle of Armor, the DLC moves the action to the titular island, which is made up of beaches, bogs, forests, caves and dunes.

“Take up an apprenticeship under the former Galar Champion, Mustard, who’s also the mentor of Champion Leon!” Nintendo explains.

“Meet new rivals, hone your skills and master new fighting styles with the Legendary Pokemon: Kubfu.

“You’ll also be able to Gigantamax the final Evolution of the partner Pokemon you chose to start your journey with. Look forward to discovering Rillaboom, Cinderace or Inteleon in their new form, and a new G-Max Move to boot!”
