Evolving your Lampent into a Chandelure in Sword and Shield isn’t as simple as leveling up. Here’s how to get it done if you’re having trouble.
Most Pokémon games require trainers to level up their Pokémon in order to make them more powerful and eventually evolve. The trouble is, for as long as Pokémon games have been around, some of its creatures have required a little more in order to make them change. Certain stones need to be applied to certain Pokémon in order to make them evolve.
In Sword and Shield, Lampent is one of those Pokémon. Evolving a Lampent into a Chandelure isn’t as simple as leveling up. Tracking down a Lampent is pretty tricky too. According to Twinfinite, there’s only one area of the Galar region Lampent can be found — The Lake of Outrage. What’s more, if you are not searching under an Intense Sun, Lampent will remain hidden away.
There is an easier way to add a Lampent to your arsenal. Tracking down a Litwick which can be evolved into a Lampent without the need for a pesky stone. Litwicks can be found at Motostoke Bank or Bridge Field. Train the Pokémon up to level 41 and hey presto! It should evolve into a Lampent. Now for the important part, evolving that Lampent into a Chandelure.
As mentioned above, trainers will need a stone to get the job done. A Dusk Stone, specifically. There are a couple of places in the Galar region trainers can go to obtain a Dusk Stone. The Digging Duo in Sword and Shield‘s Wild Area will find one for you, but it’ll set you back a few Watts. Simply ask them to undergo a little Reward-Focused digging and it should result in the pair coming across a Dusk Stone for you.
Don’t want to spend any Watts? No problem. Dusk Stones can also be found at the Lake of Outrage’s farming spot. That’s right, the same place a trainer might be lucky enough to find a wild Lampent. Head there under Intense Sun and you might well be lucky enough to catch a Lampent, discover a Dusk Stone, and leave with a Chandelure.
