PS5 stock could be available to buy once again this week, with rumours circulating that a “huge” PlayStation 5 shipment is on the way to the UK. That’s according to the PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates Twitter account, who use bots to track PlayStation 5 restocks and notify people as soon as the stock becomes available to buy. And the @PS5Instant Twitter account has said stock could become available to buy on Thursday January 7.
In the run-up to 2021 kicking off the Twitter account dedicated to PS5 stock news tweeted: “So plenty of PS5 drops will occur on the 7th and 12th. Don’t buy stock from the scalpers, make sure they lose!”
While previously the account had also posted: “A huge third shipment is being prepared to be sent to the UK soon, expected date 1st week Jan but can be delayed due to our port issues.”
In a separate tweet the account said that “most” UK retailers are expecting a third shipment of stock.
And in a recent tweet the @PS5Instant Twitter gave fans an idea of how large this inbound shipment could be.
The account tweeted: “The last stock drop in North America lead to scalped prices dropping by 25-30%. We should expect similar results in the UK and EU upon our next drop as its going to be huge. Just wait guys, almost there”.
The caveat to all of this is the account has warned that while stock is expected on January 7, there could be delays.
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
Previously the PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates Twitter account said the delay could be just a few days.
While more recently the PS5 stock tracker account said the delays could mean stock is released on either January 12 or 14.
In terms of specific retailers that could be getting stock, the @PS5Instant Twitter said BT and EE customers should have a chance to order a PS5 via the communication providers’ official store on Thursday January 7.
It remains to be seen whether major retailers such as Amazon UK, Argos, GAME, Currys or Tesco could receive PS5 restocks around then as well.
The account tweeted: “Currently EE & BT are expecting stock to arrive for orders on the 7th January. We’ll know for certain by Tuesday, if the stock hasn’t arrived by then, we could be waiting until the 12th & 14th for retailers to release stock”.
Another PS5 stock account, the PS5 Stock UK Twitter, has also been tweeting about inbound PlayStation 5 stock at BT and EE.
On Tuesday the @PS5UKStock1 Twitter said the BT and EE websites have been updated so customers can register their interest in upcoming PS5 restocks.
The PS5 Stock UK Twitter posted: “BT and EE have updated their website and are now allowing customers to register their interest in purchasing the PlayStation 5. You must be an existing customer for a minimum of 17 months to qualify.”
As always with rumours, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt until official confirmation.
But with the PS5 being sold out for some time now in the UK, it hopefully means we’re due a restock soon.
While the PS5 has been extremely hard to come by since launch it hopefully won’t be the case for 2021.
According to a recent report by DigiTimes, Sony are ramping up production of the PS5 with up to 18million units expected to be produced in 2021.
If that’s the case then hopefully it’s a sign that the PS5 will become easier to get hold of as the year goes on.
