Resident Evil 2, 3, And 7 Current-Gen Updates Available Now

Right after we got news of Resident Evil Village DLC and some more info on the Resident Evil 4 remake, we were also told that current-gen upgrades were available for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7. The best part? They're available to download now.

While we all wait patiently for the Resident Evil 4 remake, at least we can enjoy these other titles on the best hardware possible.

Also announced during the Capcom showcase is all-new Resident Evil Village DLC, Shadows of Rose. It will be coming October 28 2022 and will also add a new game mode and a third-person mode. It follows Village protagonist Ethan's daughter, Rose. We saw her as a baby in the main game, but this DLC takes place 16 years later.

Capcom also said it would be "carefully preserving" the original feel of Resident Evil 4 with the remake. The game was first revealed at Sony's State of Play earlier this month – which also kicked off the Summer Game Fest. We didn't see much more gameplay, but the game seemed a lot darker and moodier than the original, so it maybe isn't going to be sticking as close to the source material as it's promising.

Also unveiled at the Capcom Showcase today was Exoprimal gameplay which showed off a dinosaur tornado – you read that right – and a Neo-Tyrannosaurus. It also revealed more about the game's evil AI, Levithan, that sends hordes of dinos after you.

We also got a lot of details for the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC. Like, a lot. It felt like the details would never stop coming. There's a demo coming on June 14 ahead of its June 30 launch, so you can dip your toe into the new quests and monster hunts if you're new to the franchise.
