If you’ve got lots of games on your Steam Wishlist, then you might want to wait just a few more hours before making a purchase. The 2023 Steam Summer Sale has a June 29 start date and a 6pm BST UK start time. As one of the major events of the year, the Steam Summer Sale will run for a grand total of two weeks, ending at the same time on July 13. Needless to say, Steam users will be able to grab discounts on thousands of games, from first-party Valve releases like Portal and Half Life, to third-party hits from publishers such as SEGA, Capcom, Microsoft and Sony.
Confirmation of the Steam Summer Sale start date can be found on the Steamworks website, alongside plans for future events and themed sales.
“In an effort to give you a jump on planning out your year of promotional activities, we’re excited to announce the dates for 2023’s official Steam sales and fests,” Valve explains.
“Four times a year, we run Steam-wide seasonal sale events. These events are open to all released games to participate with a discount.”
The June 29 Steam Summer Sale is marked as a major seasonal sale, which means thousands of games will be discounted.
According to the official Steam schedule, the Summer Sale will be followed by the Stealth Fest on July 24.
Use Steam Wallet funds to purchase new games for your library, especially when there’s a sale on.
As the name suggests, the Stealth Fest will focus on stealth games, giving users the chance to grab discounts on games from the genre.
The festivities continue on August 7, when Valve holds the Visual Novel Fest, followed by the Strategy Fest on August 28 and the SHMUP Fest on September 25.
After holding another Next Fest at the beginning of October, Steam will hold the Scream Fest for Halloween, and the Autumn Sale on November 21.
The year ends with the major seasonal Winter Sale, which runs from December 21 until the start of January.
