It’s time to put down the controller and pick up that climbing axe as the world of Tomb Raider is about to come to life. The immersive Tomb Raider: The Live Experience will allow fans the chance to experience Lara Croft’s adventures first-hand. From sinking ships to ancient tombs, the experience will bring iconic locales from the Tomb Raider series into the real world. It is set to open in London next year.
An Entertainment Weekly report shared some of the first details of this live experience. Little Lion Entertainment, the folks behind the Crystal Maze Live Experience, crafted this Tomb Raider adventure in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. The attraction will allow groups of eight to experience the thrills of raiding a tomb as they explore dynamic environments, solve puzzles inspired by Croft’s adventures, and even face-off against a secret sect, just like in the games. According to the event’s website, all of this will be a “race against time as you help Lara Croft solve a mystery that will save the world.”
The attraction will occupy a 30,000-square-foot space at Stable’s Market in the middle of Camden Town, London, England. Croft’s world will come to life through special effects, live actors, and some familiar faces from the gaming series. Some recently revealed concept art shows off what is planned for the event, including some familiar sites from the games. Fans can expect to experience snow-covered levels, lava-flooded crypts, and even some iconic rooms within the infamous Croft Manor as they navigate traps and work with Lara to save the world.
Tickets for the event are on sale now through the official website. The Early Bird tickets will run £77 (roughly $87) and will let you be the first to play and get priority booking 24 hours in advance of the general sale. Meanwhile, Deluxe tickets will cost £99 (roughly $112) and will let you have priority booking 48 hours in advance and you will be memorialized in the attraction as your portrait will be hung on the walls of the Croft Manor.
This experience will cap off a pretty big year for the franchise, which just celebrated its 25th anniversary. You can catch up on all things Tomb Raider through our recent round-up of interviews and news.
