Users Report Twitter Outage

Update, July 14, 13:58 BST: Twitter appears to be back online.

If you're having trouble refreshing your timeline, don't worry, you aren't the only one. Well, maybe worry a little, as it does appear Twitter is down for a lot of users at the moment.

Website Downdector which logs user reports of network outages has seen a sharp spike in the number of Twitter users claiming the site is down for them. The spike appears to have begun between 12:30 and 12:50 BST.

According to istheservicedown, Twitter has been experiencing issues since 08:40 BST today. The outage map on the site shows these issues are worldwide, not just located in the UK.

That being said, the UK does appear to be the most heavily disrupted region, as do parts of France and parts of the East and West coasts of the US. Pakistan, Japan, Portugal, Brazil, Columbia, and small regions in Kenya and Saudi Arabia also appear to be affected.

This news comes amid Twitter and Elon Musk feuding over the billionaire's attempted purchase of the site. He withdrew his offer, citing the platforms undisclosed number of bots, but Twitter then sued him in an attempt to force him to go through with the deal.
