UPDATE: Valorant Ranked matchmaking will be released today, June 24, Riot Games has confirmed. Having revealed that they had to delay the launch earlier this week, it has now been confirmed that Riot Games will stagger the release of Ranked throughout today, based on regions.
A message from Riot Games adds: “We know nobody’s been asking for it, but ranked is finally coming in the next 24 hours. We’re staggering our rollout per region and at off-peak times to monitor stability.”
It should be noted that for UK gamers, the Valorant ranked release date will fall in the early hours of June 25.
Valorant Ranked release times are as follows:
- R, OCE & APAC — 1:00PM PT 6/24
- NA/BR/LATAM — 2:00PM PT 6/24
- EU, RU, TR & CIS regions — 8:00PM PT 6/24
ORIGINAL: The Valorant Ranked release date was expected to arrive soon after the launch of this week’s 1.02 patch launch. As much had been confirmed by Riot Games, who had warned that gamers would have to wait a little longer as “Competitive won’t be on with the patch ship and will be coming later.”
This made sense as you would expect the dev team to watch and see if any bad bugs had been shipped with the latest launch.
And it appears that something like this has happened, delaying the launch of Valorant Ranked matchmaking.
We never had a solid release date for when competitive gameplay would return, so it’s hard to say just how much longer things will take.
But it appears the development team has been caught out by this week’s Valorant patch problems.
WHEN DOES VALORANT RANKED COME OUT?
No set release date has been set for Valorant Ranked to arrive, however, this is still a chance it might be ready in the coming days.
Serious bugs have affected the latest build of the game, with some players being able to turn on Ghost Mode.
Since launch, more bugs have been found and it seems unlikely that Valorant Ranked will be ready for launch today, June 24.

Game director Joe Ziegler has shared a couple of updates throughout the day, detailing the latest issues with Valorant.
He started by telling gamers: “There was an issue that went live this morning that allowed for players who had noclip bound to use it in normal games.
“Until we can fix this on the game side and redeploy (which we’re working on as we speak) we’ve disabled cheats, which affects observer on custom games.”
This was followed by further updates, following the discovery of more game build issues.
“Currently evaluating stability and tracking any issues with the patch as it goes live across different regions.
“Based on what we see we will turn on competitive tomorrow after all regions have the patch or later this week. Will update you later today.”
However, that message was followed by another that suggests it might take a little longer for Valorant Ranked to arrive.
The message from Ziegler reads: “Update: bad news. We are investigating a reported issue in which players can every once in a while spawn in the opposing team’s spawn point. We are actively trying to fix this and get it out as fast as possible, but will not turn on competitive until it is fixed.”
A message from Valorant adds: “We found another bug that puts competitive at risk, so we’re holding off turning on ranked for a while longer.
“Sorry for the delay, we’re working as fast as possible to get a fix and, when we get one, we’ll turn ranked on. Predicting a day or two, but nothing confirmed yet.”
It seems unlikely that Valorant Ranked will be released today, but there could be some big news for gamers in the next 48-hours regarding the rescheduled launch.
