Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S unboxing videos show how small the consoles are

A wave of unboxing videos have shown up for the two next gen Xbox consoles and if nothing else they give a good indication of their size.

We already know that the PlayStation 5 is unusually large for a console, but the opposite seems to be true for the two new Xbox consoles.

Unboxing videos are pretty pointless at the best of times, and these ones don’t even feature the proper boxes (revealed earlier today), but just generic delivery parcels from Microsoft.

However, they do illustrate the size of the two consoles very well, which has often been hard to gauge with the Xbox Series X because of its unusual shape.

As you can see, the Xbox One S is roughly half the size of a PlayStation 4 and while the Xbox Series X is harder to compare it’s not the gigantic slab many feared it would be.

Both consoles can be kept on their side or stood upright, without needing any kind of special stand, but it seems Microsoft’s preferred orientation is vertical in both cases.

The peculiarly highlighted circular vent on the Xbox Series S also makes much more sense when stood next to an Xbox One S, as it’s basically just the same design except coloured black.

What’s going to be most interesting is how they look when stood next to a PlayStation 5 but, as ever, there’s no clue as to when Sony will announce more information or when the inevitable unboxing videos for their consoles will arrive.
