Anticipated indie game Afterparty will be released on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Mac on the Epic Games Store, and Xbox One on Oct. 29. Details about a Nintendo Switch launch are expected “in the next few months.”
Developer Night School Studio announced on Friday that Afterparty will cost $19.99 on all platforms, but will also be available through Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s game subscription service. In Afterparty, players will control Lola and Milo — two dead pals — as they attempt to get outta hell by out-drinking Satan. Yep, now that sounds like a good way to spend Halloween.
Like Night School Studio’s supernatural mystery game Oxenfree — which sold 1.5 million copies — Afterparty will use a complex conversational system “that will allow players to change the story and relationships based on every decision.”

Drinking, of course, will also change the story through the character’s dialogue and personality. Beyond just drinking at the bar, players can partake in beer pong, dance-offs, and chugging contests with Afterparty’s “large, outrageous cast.”
“We’ve spent the last few years building a world, story and mechanics to allow players to star in their own dark comedy,” Night School Studio co-founder Sean Krankel said in a statement. “We hope fans of our games and binge-worthy adult animation alike will join Lola and Milo on Oct. 29 in their quest to escape Hell.”
