PokemonSword and Sheild was released around the world on Friday November 15th and later today in celebration of the launch Pokemon Go will add the first Galar region Pokemon to the mobile game.
The Galarian Weezing will join the game as a new raid boss, first as a special raid hour directly after the Pokemon GO Community Day November event .
An official message from the Pokemon Go team reads:
Pokémon SwordandPokémon Shieldhave been released on Nintendo Switch! In celebration of the latest games in the Pokémon series, Galarian Weezing will be appearing in four-star Raid Battles around the world right after November Community Day ends!
You might notice that Galarian Weezing looks different than Weezing from the Kanto region! It’s adapted itself to the environment in the Galar region, which is where Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are set. Galarian Weezing even has two types—Poison and Fairy!
Get ready to show your love for the Galar region! In celebration of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield release, you can receive new avatar items based on the main characters’ clothes in the Style Shop for free! It’s time to gear up and take on Galarian Weezing while sporting a fresh look from the Galar region.

As we mention, the Galar region Weezing is only coming to the game as a special raid hour.
Thankfully though, the Pokemon will still be available after the raid hour, but it's said that the Galar Region raid boss will appear " occasionally" in raids.
In short, this is your best shot of getting the Pokemon because it's hard to say when it could be available again in the future.

Galar Weezing Best Counters
Galarian Weezing is both a Fairy and Poison-type Pokemon. It's boosted by Cloudy weather, with a weaknesses to Steel, Ground and Psychic types.
As per the team at Pokemon Go Hub, your best bet of countering the Galar Region Weezing is by using a Mewtwo with Psystrike or Metacross with Meteor Mash.
We'll assume you have plenty of Mewtwo or Metacross, but you can also use Jirachi, Dialga and Latios to good effect too.
You can catch a Galarian Weezing Raid boss with the following CPs:
- 1242 – 1310 (Unboosted Level 20 raid catch)
- 1553 – 1637 (Boosted Level 25 raid catch in Cloudy )
